A member of the U.S. World Cup squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, Albright is entering his ninth season in MLS and fifth with the Galaxy. In his previous eight seasons, Albright appeared in 167 games, making 139 starts. He began his career as a forward before moving to right back prior to the 2004 campaign. The move resulted paid off immediately as he was named as a starter in the 2004 Sierra Mist All-Star Game for the first time in his career. Has made 22 career appearances with the U.S. National Team since making his debut in 1999.

MLS Experience

2007: Was shown his first yellow card of the season in the 82nd minute on 4/8… Was booked in second half stoppage time in the Galaxy's 3-1 win over New York in the U.S. Open Cup on 5/8… Left with a hamstring injury in the 15th minute of the 1-1 draw @ CHV on 5/20… Was later ruled out for 4-6 months with a torn right hamstring… Served as an analyst during part of FSN West's broadcast of the Galaxy game vs. CHI on 7/4…Returned to light training in August and is aiming to return by the end of the season.

2006: Albright's strong form as the Galaxy's right back saw him named the club's Defender of the Year and earn a spot in Bruce Arena's U.S. team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Was unavailable from 5/10-6/17 as a result, missing eight games before returning to the lineup on 6/24. Started all but one game for L.A. after returning from the World Cup and was named to his third consecutive MLS All-Star Game.

2005: Despite missing nine games in the middle of the season with a severely sprained right knee, he was named to a second consecutive All-Star team. His return from injury in mid-July helped spark the club to both the MLS Cup and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup titles. In addition, he reached a career milestone on 9/25 vs. KC when he surpassed the 10,000 career minutes played mark.

2004: Enjoyed his best season as a professional, earning his first All-Star appearance with spectacular play along the right touchline, setting a new career-high with six assists. He recorded his first career multi-assist game in a 3-1 road win vs. Dallas on 5/8 when he collected two assists. Registered assists in back-to-back games on 5/19 and 5/22 at D.C and San Jose, respectively.

2003: In his last year as a forward, he played in a career-best 27 games, earning the starting nod in 23 of them. He scored three goals, tying a career-high and added four assists.

2002: Albright joined the Galaxy after three seasons with D.C. United and appeared in 14 games, making eight starts. He missed 12 games due to injuries but still managed one assist in 814 minutes of action. 2001: Made 23 appearances on the year, making 14 starts, tallying a goal and an assist.

2000: Set a career-high with three goals scored. Scored his first career MLS goal on 5/27 in a win over Dallas and then scored in back-to-back games on 6/21 and 6/24 against the MetroStars and Dallas respectively.

1999: Allocated to the Miami Fusion as a Project-40 player, Albright was traded to D.C. United with John Maessner for Brian Kamler and future considerations on 7/17. He made his MLS debut eight days later on 7/25 at New England and went on to appear in eight games with United, the eventual MLS Cup champions. He tallied his first career assist on a Clint Peay goal against the Galaxy on 9/25.

International

2006: Appeared in two games for the U.S. in the run up to the World Cup. He was named in the U.S.'s 23-man squad but did not make an appearance for the team in Germany.

2005: Appeared in a career-high seven games for the U.S., making six starts and playing 521 minutes. He collected one assist in those seven games, five of which were World Cup qualifiers.

2004: Returned to the National Team setup for the first time since March 2001 when he played 78 minutes in a friendly on January 19 against Denmark, a game which the U.S. tied 1-1.

2001: Made three appearances for the USA, including one 2002 World Cup qualifying match, entering the 2-1 win in Honduras on 3/28 as a second half substitute.

2000: Played in three games with the full National Team and was also an important member of the U.S. Olympic team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. He started in all six of the USA's matches in the tournament, scoring two goals as the U.S. finished fourth and reached the medal round for the first time ever. 1999: Scored his first full international goal in his debut on 9/8 vs. Jamaica, coming on as a substitute in the 78th minute and netting the equalizer a few minutes later in a 2-2 draw.

From D.C. United along with second round pick (24th Overall) in the 2002 SuperDraft on Jan. 11, 2002 in exchange for the Galaxy's first and second round selections in the 2002 SuperDraft and a conditional pick in the 2003 SuperDraft.
