In his first season with the Galaxy, Cannon will look to add to an already impressive resume that has seen him twice named the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and a finalist for the award in five of the last six years. A three-time MLS All-Star (2001-02, 2006), Cannon has appeared in 187 MLS regular season games, is one of five players in league history to have won 75 or more regular season games and has the fourth best goals against average in MLS history at 1.26. He has been even better in the MLS Cup Playoffs, posting an impressive 1.22 GAA and helping the Rapids to the Western Conference Championship game each of the past two seasons.

MLS Experience

2007: Made his Galaxy debut in the 0-0 draw @ HOU on 4/8, making four saves to earn the shutout ... Earned his first win in a Galaxy uniform on 4/28, making five saves in the 3-1 win vs. CHV… Tied a season-high with five saves and collected his second clean sheet of the season in the 0-0 draw vs. DC on 6/2 ... Again tied a season-high, making five saves, including one on a Ned Grabavoy first half penalty kick in the 3-2 loss vs. CLB on 6/23 ... Earned his third clean sheet of the season, making one save, in the 2-0 win vs. CHI on 7/4… Made the 200th appearance of his MLS career, making five saves to earn his 55th career shutout on 8/5 @ TFC ... Earned his first clean sheet during SuperLiga in the 2-0 win against D.C. United on 8/15 ... Made a career-high 10 saves in the 5-4 loss @ NY on 8/18… Made a six saves, as well as one save during the penalty kick shoot out, in the SuperLiga Final loss to Pachuca ... Missed his first league game of the year vs. RSL on 9/1, sitting out with a groin injury.

2006: Helped lead the Rapids back to the Western Conference Championship and was a finalist for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year. Started all 28 games that he appeared in and was named to the MLS All-Star team that defeated English Premier League champions Chelsea FC. Cannon collected the win in this game, improving his record in All-Star games to 2-0-0.

2005: Played in and started 27 games, playing 2,399 minutes and collecting a 10-12-4 record with eight shutouts.

2004: Was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and was a finalist for the Honda Most Valuable Player as he finished the year with a 10-9-11 record and a 1.07 GAA. He tallied a team record and career-high 10 shutouts and played all 90 minutes in all 30 of the Rapids' regular season games.

2003: Returned to MLS, signing with the Colorado Rapids in August, after spending eight months with RC Lens of France's Ligue 1. Played 45 minutes in the regular season for the Rapids and then started each of the club's two postseason games, playing the entirety of both games against the Kansas City Wizards in the Western Conference Semifinals.

2002: Played 26 games for the Earthquakes, compiling 13-10-3 record and a 1.10 GAA en route to winning his first MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award.

2001: Was named to the MLS All-Star team for the first time and was a finalist for MLS Goalkeeper of the Year for the first time. He started all 25 games in which he appeared, collecting 13 wins and a 1.09 GAA in the regular season. Cannon was even better in the postseason, going 5-1 with a 0.49 GAA to lead San Jose to its first MLS Cup title.

2000: Started all 26 games in which he appeared, tallying a 1.49 GAA that was the fourth best in MLS.

1999: Bay Area product assumed starting goalkeeper position for San Jose in June and played all 90 minutes in each of his team's final 18 games, finishing with a career-high 14 wins and a 1.33 GAA.

International

Cannon has appeared in two games for the U.S. Men's National Team and is yet to concede a goal in two halves of play. He made his National Team debut on 6/8/2003 against New Zealand in Richmond, Va., replacing Marcus Hahnemann at halftime of a 2-1 U.S. win. Returned to the National Team on 3/19/2005, making his first career start against Honduras in Albuquerque, N.M. before being replaced by Kevin Hartman. He as been a part of a number of National Team camps since his last cap, but has not made an appearance.
