A talented and dynamic forward who had a career year for the Galaxy in 2005, bursting on to the scene to help lead the club to the domestic double while asserting himself as a viable strike partner for Landon Donovan.

MLS Experience

2005: In his second season in Major League Soccer, was chosen as the team's Honda Most Valuable Player by the Los Angeles media. Gomez had a breakout offensive season with the Galaxy in 2005. After having played just five minutes in his MLS career prior to this season (in October of 2003), and spending 2004 with the San Diego Gauchos (D-3), he worked his way up from the Galaxy reserves at the start of the season to a permanent role in Steve Sampson's attack. He finished the regular season with 11 goals in 22 games (16 starts), second-best on the club to the 12 of Landon Donovan. His most productive month proved to be September as Gomez scored five goals in five games, missing the net only once on Sept. 21 at Dallas. He was also voted the MLS Player of the Week after scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory against FC Dallas on October 1.

2002: At the end of the season, L.A. acquired Gomez as a Developmental Player on September 19.

Other Pro Experience

2003: Gomez signed with the now defunct San Diego Sockers for the 2003-04 season, appearing in 10 games and scoring five goals.

2002: He finished the 2002 D3 Pro-League with the San Diego Gauchos. Appeared in 17 games, playing 1,536 minutes on the field. Scored 17 goals and added one assist for 35 points. Hit 59 shots and committed 23 fouls.

2000-2001: In 2001, he trained and played with Cruz Azul (Mexico 2nd Division) in 2000 and Aguila Blanca de Pueblas (Mexico 2nd Division) in 2001. He also appeared with Puebla (Mexico 2nd Division) in 2000.
