The only player in MLS history to play the with the same club for each of the League's first 11 season, Jones is the Galaxy's all-time leader in games played (281), goals (66) and assists (86). He is one of three players in MLS history to have scored 60 or more goals and added 80 or more assists and was named an All-Star in each of MLS' first seven seasons. He won his first MLS Cup Championship in 2002 after he anchored the Galaxy to its first championships in club history, the 2000 CONCACAF Champions' Cup and the 2001 U.S. Open Cup. Jones was then a major part of the Galaxy team that did "The Double" in 2005, winning both the MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup for a second time. The all-time leader in caps with the U.S. National Team with 164 from 1992-2004, Jones announced prior to the start of the 2007 MLS season that he would retire at the conclusion of the campaign.

2007: Scored his first goal of the year in the 78th minute of the 3-1 win vs. CHV on 4/28 ...Was named Galaxy captain for the U.S. Open Cup Play-In Game vs, NY on 5/8 but was sent off after 54 minutes ...Served as the Galaxy captain and played the opening 70 minutes in the 1-0 loss vs. Rangers on 5/23 ...was given the captain's armband for the 3-1 loss vs. FCD on 6/9 ...Captained the club once again and scored the club's third goal in the 3-2 win vs. RSL on 6/17. It was his second goal of the year ...Tallied his first assist of the season on Gavin Glinton's 66th minute goal in the 3-2 loss vs. CLB on 6/23 to became the third player in MLS history, joining Chris Armas and Steve Ralston, to record an assist in every MLS season ...Recorded his first multi-goal game since August 2002 by scoring twice off the bench in the Galaxy's 2-2 draw vs. KC on 7/7. The two goals put him into a tie for the team lead with four goals on the season... 2006: Jones continued his strong play, tallying four goals, on just six shots on goal, and adding four assists. Tied a career-high with three assists in the season finale against Dallas, also adding a goal in that game.

2005: Experienced a renaissance of sorts, playing in all but one of the Galaxy's 32 regular season games. Also regained his scoring touch after a nearly two-year goal-scoring drought. Played in his 20,000th MLS minute, in a 0-0 draw with Columbus on 5/25. By season's end, had found the back of the net three times and assisted on six other tallies. Had a goal and an assist in the first-ever Honda SuperClasico against Chivas USA. Assisted on two Landon Donovan goals, including the game-winner of the Western Conference Championship against Colorado to help the Galaxy reach and win MLS Cup 2005.

2004: Struggled through various ailments early in the season and did not make an appearance in the Galaxy staring lineup until a 1-1 tie vs. Colorado on 5/15. Had highest output of the season when he assisted on two goals in 4-1 defeat of Dallas on 5/29. Missed two games (9/4 and 10/9) while on National Team duty.

2003: Played and started 28 regular season matches for the Galaxy in 2003, amassing two goals and eight assists on the campaign. He played in his 200th career MLS match, joining retired teammate Mauricio Cienfuegos as the only two players in club history to accomplish the feat.

2002: Ranked first on the team in assists with 13, tying a career-high, despite playing a career-low 19 games. Scored one game-winning goal and added four game-winning assists. Was even better in the postseason, notching three goals and four assists in six playoff games while playing all 572 minutes of the L.A. postseason as the Galaxy won their first MLS Cup.

2001: Notched two historic milestones during the year, becoming the third player in MLS history to register 50 goals and 50 assists, joining Preki and Jason Kreis, and scoring the 300th all-time regular season goal for the Galaxy on 4/28.

2000: Played his 10,000th MLS minute on 5/13 at Dallas. Tallied game-winning goals to lead the club to victories over D.C. United (6/28) and the Miami Fusion (7/8). Led the team in scoring for the third straight season with seven goals.

1999: Helped lead the Galaxy back to the MLS Cup Final, scoring eight goals and adding eights assists in 28 games for the Galaxy.

1998: Had his best season in MLS, setting career-highs with 19 goals and 13 assists. Was a finalist for MLS MVP and was named to the Radio Shack MLS Best XI despite missing eight matches while with the U.S. World Cup team in France.

1997: Scored seven goals and added nine assists in 26 appearances for the Galaxy, making 25 starts.

1996: Scored the Galaxy's first goal in the 37th minute of the opening day victory over the MetroStars on 4/13. Recorded the first hat trick of his MLS career in a 4-3 loss at Tampa Bay on 7/27.

International

2004: Returned to the U.S. national team for the opening rounds of qualifying to 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. Increased his cap total to 164, the most all-time among U.S. internationals. Finished his career with 15 goals and 22 assists in those 164 games.

2002: Tied former D.C. United midfielder Earnie Stewart with 11 all-time appearances in the World Cup finals as he played a key role off the bench in wins over Portugal and Mexico as the U.S. reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.

2000: Had his best year statistically with the National Team appearing in 16 games and scoring six goals and adding nine assists

1994-1998: One of only two U.S. players to have played every minute in both the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups. Was named the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year in 1998 after appearing in 15 of the National Team's 16 games.

1992: He earned his first cap with the U.S. National Team, starting in a 2-0 win over Canada on 9/3.
