MLS Highlights
2008: Appeared in two games, playing five minutes in those games. Played the final four minutes of the 1-0 loss vs. Chicago on 8/21 and then came on late in the 2-2 draw vs. Real Salt Lake on 9/6. Sesay made his longest appearance of the year with the first team on 5/27, when he played the final 27 minutes of the 1-0 loss vs. Colorado in a U.S. Open Cup Play-In Game. He also played in all 12 of the Galaxy's Reserve Division games, starting all 12 and scoring two goals while adding two assists. Both of his goals came against Chivas USA, scoring late in a 5-3 win on 7/11 and again on 8/15 in a 2-1 loss.2007: Acquired by the Galaxy in late August via an MLS weighted lottery, Seasy played in one game during his rookie season. He entered the 3-0 loss at Chivas USA on 9/13 in the 89th minute, coming on for Kyle Martino to make his MLS debut. In doing so, Sesay became the youngest player in Galaxy history ever to appear in a game at the age of 17 years and nine days, breaking the former record of Guillermo Gonzlaez who was 17 years and 168 days when he made his debut in June 2003. Sesay's appearance made him the eighth youngest player in MLS history ever to play in a game and the first to be born in 1990 and play in a league match. He also appeared in and started six Reserve Division games, collecting two assists, including one on his debut against the Real Salt Lake Reserves on 9/2.
National Team
Sesay joined U.S. Soccer's Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. in August 2006, alongside fellow MLS players Abdus Ibrahim of Toronto FC, Josh Lambo, of FC Dallas and Alex Nimo of Real Salt Lake. He played in 14 games with the U.S. Under-17 '90 age group since his debut in 2006, making ten starts and collecting three assists.
Personal
Sesay moved to the United States from his native Sierra Leone in 2002 at the age of 11. He and his family eventually settled in Gaithersburg, Md. While there, Sesay began playing soccer under the tutelage of Festus George, leading to his eventual inclusion in the U.S. Soccer Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla.
