The 33-year old forward agreed to terms with the Galaxy on June 20 and was cleared to play for the club nine days later. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Pavon has been an integral element of the Honduran National Team for the past 14 years, earning 67 caps and registering a national team record of 47 goals. He recently led the 'Catrachos' to the Quarterfinals of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, scoring a tournament-best five goals, including four in Honduras' 5-0 thrashing of Cuba. He made his professional club debut at the age of 18 with Real España and spent two seasons there, winning the Honduran championship once. After that, Pavon's career has taken him to Spain's (Real Villadolid) La Liga, Mexico with Necaxa, Atletico Celaya, Monarcas Morelia and Cruz Azul, Italy with Serie A sides Udinese and Napoli as well as to Guatemala with Comunicaciones. Last season, the 2000 Honduran Footballer of the Year returned to Real España and helped that club with the Honduran Clausura championship, scoring 15 times in 20 games before signing with the Galaxy.

MLS Experience

2007: Made his Galaxy debut in the second half of the 2-0 win vs. CHI on 7/4, replacing Cobi Jones in the 56th minute. He tallied two shots on goal in his 34 minutes of action. Scored the winning goal during the 6-5 win against Dallas FC during the SuperLiga game on 7/31. Scored his first two MLS goals in the 6th and 8th minute in the 5-4 loss against the New York Red Bulls on 8/18 ... Played his 10th game of the year on 9/13 @ CHV, starting and playing the opening the opening 66 minutes before coming off.
