Thanks to your support in 2006, we reached over 1.2 million people. The Back-to-School campaign encourages parents of uninsured children to enroll their kids in public coverage programs. "Nine million children in America are uninsured. While 7 out of 10 of these kids are eligible for low-cost or free health care coverage through Medi-Cal for Children or Healthy Families, their parents may not realize their kids are eligible. Medi-Cal for Children and Healthy Families provide low-cost or free health care coverage to eligible uninsured children. Once covered, kids have access to benefits such as routine check-ups, hearing and vision screenings, prescription medicines and hospitalization. With your help, we have the opportunity to let more parents know about these programs so they can get their children the health care coverage they need.
