Kick for Kids: Galaxy v. Houston Dynamo (April 19th, 2008)
Saturday night's game against the Houston Dynamo served to be quite the exciting come-from-behind match, as the Galaxy and Dynamo tied 2-2. With plenty of scoring and fast-paced action in the second half, the enormous energy of the fans was felt all throughout the stadium, especially in the Kicks for Kids section. The fun and exiting atmosphere continued to build as the 90 minutes wore on, sparking many of the kids to stand up and cheer louder for their favorite players. Their positivity and enjoyment was truly felt as the children seemed to take pleasure in watching their favorite team play. One child for the organization, LACERS, said that his favorite part of the game was "watching Beckham play" as he held up his personally made 'GO BECKHAM' sign. The 5th graders from Glen Alta, and LA's Best After School Enrichment Program made sure to make their presence known throughout the game as they cheered in unison for their favorite players. For most of the children, it was their first time ever attending an LA Galaxy game, making it definitely a night to remember. Once again, banners were proudly lifted and cheers were non-stop, making Saturday's game the place to be. Once more, the Galaxy Foundation and our Kicks For Kids Community Partners would like to thank all the Kicks For Kids groups in attendance. Your enjoyment is what makes our efforts worthwhile, and we hope to see you all at many more games to come! -Jennifer West, CD Intern, LA Galaxy |
