Kick for Kids: Galaxy v. Chivas USA (April 26th, 2008)

Saturday night's rival match against Chivas USA served to be quite the exciting game for all in attendance, as the Galaxy defeated Chivas USA 5-2. The sold out stadium was packed with both fans of the Galaxy and Chivas, creating an electric energy of team pride that buzzed all throughout the stadium, especially in the Kicks For Kids section. The rivalry brewed strong as many of the children joined in chants and cheers, while proudly sporting their bright-yellow foam fingers. With plenty of scoring and a commanding lead, the fun atmosphere and Galaxy pride were truly felt as the children enjoyed watching their favorite team come out ahead against a great rival. One group in particular from the organization, Casa de Amigos, were amazing at raising the energy level of the entire section, encouraging everyone to join in on their cheers. They were even successful at starting a wave! With every Galaxy goal, the entire group stomped and shouted, showing their support for their favorite players. One young man from the organization, Trinity El Monte, said that he loves coming to Galaxy games because "they are the best team to see in L.A." For the members of MLA Partner Schools, it was definitely a night to remember as one teacher expressed how "it is wonderful to be able to bring students to something they have never been to before."
