October 27th, 2008 – Katrina Lopez from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. is the newly crowned winner of the Miss LA Galaxy 2009 contest, presented by COVERGIRL. As part of her award she earned a $1,000 cash prize courtesy of COVERGIRL, COVERGIRL makeup, a flower bouquet, a crown and embroidered satin sash. Lopez was also the Fan's Choice Winner, receiving nearly 30 percent of the more than 8,000 votes that were cast online, garnering her a $100 cash prize.

Lopez defeated nine other finalists in the contest, held on the main concourse of The Home Depot Center prior to the Galaxy's game against FC Dallas on Sunday, October 26. Read the entire recap »

September 28th, 2008 – The 10 Miss L.A. Galaxy finalists were treated to a day of fun at Knott's Berry Farm where they experienced some of Knott's newest roller coasters. As the sun went down, the fun day turned into a chilling night as the theme park turned into Knott's famous Halloween Haunt – voted the best and scariest Halloween event! The 10 finalists screamed their way through some of Haunt's newest and most horrifying mazes.
